The golf at Hideout Golf Club

Kelly Blake Moran designed the course, and the club says it was built to be challenging to a scratch golfer, yet enjoyable and playable for the high handicapper. Each nine plays to par 36, with four par 3s and four par 5s on the round. From the Black tees the par 3s run from 142 to 216 yards and the par 5s from 524 to 585 yards.

The club describes “a manicured golf course without homes or tee times,” and it pairs its “no tee-times” approach with the ability to walk the course. Its home page says Hideout “is well known for fast greens, quick play, and culinary delights!”

Games

The Dogfight runs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 12:30 and Saturdays at 10:30, from the Green or White tees at 90 percent of handicap, with a blind draw for groups and a $30 entry fee. Members call the golf shop to sign up: by 11:30 for the weekday games and by 9:30 on Saturdays. The Ladies Group plays Tuesdays at 9:00, in tee times with groups of your own, and Thursdays at 9:30 in a shotgun with golf shop pairings.

Tournaments hosted

In 2007 the club’s website listed a U.S. Amateur qualifier, a U.S. Junior qualifier and a PGA stroke play championship among the tournaments it had hosted. It does not give the years.
